Motivational Monday: Jamie Corbin

Hi ladies! Today, I have a special guest for Motivational Monday who is here to tell her weightloss story!

Jamie's story:
"I am a 26 year old mother of two kids - an almost 4 year old boy and an almost 2 year old girl. I have been overweight most of my life, even as a young child I would consider myself "bigger". I tried many "diets & fads" throughout my teenage years (starving myself, which obviously didn't work and wasn't healthy) and I tried diet pills and other unhealthy methods.

Shortly after getting married (at 22) (I was around 160/170 pounds at that time) I found out I was pregnant with my son, I gained close to 40 pounds with this pregnancy and my weight ballooned up to 210. I never did lose the weight from this pregnancy and was easily fitting into size 19 jeans and 2x shirts. I was also eating the worst foods, Large Sized Fast food, fried foods and lots of junk food.
Two years after my son was born I found out I was pregnant with my daughter - I actually lost weight with this pregnancy and only gained 4 pounds. I was still right around 210 pounds, I was depressed and angry with myself that I let myself get this way. I had no energy to play with my son and the couch really did become my best friend.

I had a turn around shortly after my daughters birth in May 2012 - once I got the Okay at my 6 week OB appointment I decided to try exercising (I NEVER exercised in the past). I started the Julian Micheal's 30 day shred and stuck to it. I also made a choice to become a Vegetarian which was very easy for me to do and I also looked into running (I also never ran in the past). I started the couch to 5k running plan, finished it and in the process feel in love with running.

I did my first 5k in October 2012, and I finished it without even having to walk - I was so proud of myself and my time of 31 minutes. I have done many 5k's since that one in October and even got my time down to 24 minutes. I also just finished my first Half Marathon of many in December 2013. I am really hoping to achieve another goal a full Marathon in the fall (2014).

Since this journey began - I lost over 70 pounds, I am now able to fit in a size 4 pants and a small shirt. I went from 210 pounds which was pretty big seeing that I am only 5 feet 3 inches tall to 130 pounds. My journey continues everyday, I enjoy working out and running - I learned that my body can do so many amazing things and that no matter what goal I put in front of me as long as I am dedicated and put in the work I can do it! I have never been happier - this journey so far has been truly amazing!!"
