Real Talk: Imperfections

•••Real talk•••

There's so many ladies out there who are ashamed of their postpartum bodies-whether it be their stretch marks or their cellulite (I've got both) or something completely different.

I'm not perfect. My postpartum body isn't perfect either. It's a constant work in progress. My body has done it's job and now I'm doing my job to treat it with the gratitude it deserves after it carried my beautiful son for 40 weeks and 1 day.

Yup, I've got stretch marks, though they may not be on my tummy or "out there." Yup, I've got cellulite on my thighs that comes and goes depending on my hormones (Breastfeeding) and how I eat.

To be honest, even I sometimes get insecure out in public wearing a bikini. But, I try not to fret about it. Cause, at the end of the day, my body created the tiniest and coolest little human being ever. And I can't wait to do it all over again in a heartbeat.

People say that I'm one of the "lucky ones" that were "blessed with good genetics." Perhaps so. But I can tell you one thing-luck and good genetics won't get you very far if you are constantly eating crap and drinking crap and sitting on the couch 24/7 watching Netflix. Been there, done that. It doesn't work.

I challenge you all to go put your bikini or swimsuit on right now. Look at yourself. Learn to love yourself, right here and right now. You are not your body. I repeat, YOU ARE NOT YOUR BODY.

There's nothing wrong with wanting improvement. But make sure that you are okay with your flaws. Because when you are, what people make think or say no longer matters.
